Robert MillsRobert Peter Mills was born in London in 1950. He attended Sevenoaks School and trained as a doctor at the London Medical College. After completing his postgraduate training in London and Bristol, he worked as a consultant otolaryngologist (ENT surgeon) in Dundee. In 1998 he moved to Edinburgh where he became professor of otolaryngology.

After retiring from the British Health Service and his marriage to fellow otolaryngologist, Nadtaya Makachen, he moved to Khon Kaen in Thailand. His first novel, ‘Tiger Heart’, was published as an e-book in 2011.

As well as writing, he teaches at the local medical school and continues to take part in charitable ear surgery camps in various parts of Asia. He has three children from his first marriage: Emily, a doctor, Nicholas, an architect, and Alexa, a solicitor advocate.
